Direct Index
What it does and what it gives you
Requests indexing directly from Google for published or updated posts. This goes via the Google Indexing API and your Google OAuth token.
How to use it
- Go to Integrations → Direct Index.
- Connect your Google account with the correct OAuth scope (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/indexing). - Open a published post in the editor.
- Click Submit to Google in the meta box.
- You'll see a success or error message.
Example
You publish a new article. After publishing you click Submit to Google. Within minutes/hours the URL appears in GSC index status.
Potential issues & solutions
- "Insufficient Permission": the OAuth scope for indexing is missing. Reconnect your account and accept the extra permission.
- "URL not allowed": the URL is not a published post or page; attachments and drafts are ignored.
